Smokey City Rails is a dedicated group of model railroaders from the greater Birmingham metro area.  As a non-profit organization, their main goal is to establish a permanent location for an operating HO scale model railroad in the greater Birmingham area.  Other activities include promoting the hobby of model railroading, fellowship among model railroaders, and participating in shows, exhibits, and other events.  They promote the hobby of model railroading by displaying and operating their 16 ft x 34 ft HO scale model railroad several times a year.
